
Dirk Halverson, DPM
Medical Director of Podiatry
Dr. Halverson has 22 years of podiatry care experience. He brings experience in prevention recommendations, treatment plans for existing issues and surgical interventions to patients.
Dr. Halverson received his Bachelor of Science of Pharmacy from South Dakota State University in 1991. While working part-time as a Pharmacist he attended and graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA. He earned a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 1995. While attending school, he was a student member of the American podiatric Medicine Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He also earned membership in the National Podiatric Honorary Society.
Dr. Halverson is dedicated to continuing his education and did a Podiatric Surgical Residency in Flint, MI at Genesee/Wheelock Memorial Hospitals. After completing his residency, he entered into private practice in Marshall, MN. He later moved to Appleton, WI and practice for 10 years. The last 3+ years he has been practicing in the Minneapolis area. His areas of expertise include diabetic foot care and wound care, sports medicine and foot surgery.
Dr. Halverson is a current Member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, he is Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Ellen Fisher
Director of Wound Care Services
Ellen Fisher, RN, CNP graduated from a diploma nursing program in Iowa in 1976. Through the years, she has worked as a staff RN on Medical-Surgical units, ER, ICU, and Out-patient Surgery in both city and rural hospitals. In the late 1990s, she returned to college and obtained a Master's of Nursing Science degree as a nurse practitioner with adult specialty. In addition, she completed the Masters of Nursing Education coursework, also at UW-Eau Claire. After graduation, she worked for HCMC in their Extended Care, as part of an NP-MD team providing care to the frail elderly in SNF/ rehab setting. Ellen moved to Fairview Geriatrics in 2005 to continue her work caring for the frail elderly in nursing home setting.
In November 2014, she moved to Advanced Health Institute, and currently provides wound care in the SNF, AL and home settings, in addition to pre-op H&P for Twin Cities Ortho surgeons.
